Wow, this blog post is almost an entire month late! It's already August, and I'm still trying to catch up to the present, which actually won't be too hard, considering how I'll have no life for the following few months or so. It's good to have such a large backlog of stuff to update on, or else this blog will be very much dead.

Oh, August already... the last month of winter. It's sad that winter's gone- it's always been my favourite time of the year where you can huddle in front of the heater and be all comfortable in bed, snuggled into a ball in the middle with layers of blankets over you. (Digressing, I must have slept about 12 hours last night. Marmie came into my room to check on me, thinking I was sick or that I fainted, because I slept through dinner, woke up for an hour to watch Iron Chef, and went back to sleep till this morning). Summer's the worst and it's fast approaching =( but I suppose with summer comes my sister's much looked-forward-to wedding.

From Week 28-30, 2010
Dear marmie's birthday. My mum and dad are only 4 days apart in their birthdays, and this was her birthday cake from 85 degrees.

From Week 28-30, 2010
That night's dinner was home-made, because we already went to Jane's Kitchen to celebrate her birthday the night before.

From Week 28-30, 2010
Pekking duck! All one has to do is buy roasted duck, and shove it into the oven. Prepare cucumber sticks and spring onions, a jar of hoisin sauce, and some lebanese bread. The good thing about it was that we had an over-delivery at Franklins that morning, so we were given free lebanese bread to take home =D

From Week 28-30, 2010
Hm... duck!

From Week 28-30, 2010
I noticed some photos my sister put on my computer, and there were some pretty cute cats...

From Week 28-30, 2010
A white one looking quite regal but not that cute...

From Week 28-30, 2010
And the cutest of them all? Latti of course =) Look how furry she is.

From Week 28-30, 2010
This was at the renovated Thai restaurant downstairs of Capitol Square, next to Passionflower.

From Week 28-30, 2010
My chicken lard nar. There were heaps of people there all the time, and I must say, the food isn't bad at all, and quite cheap compared to many other Thai places around city, but definitely not as cheap as Newtown.

From Week 28-30, 2010
TT's pad thai. We actually decided to order very ordinary and plain dishes that would be hard to screw up on, since we weren't sure how good the restaurant was. Since their traditional food isn't bad, I guess it'd be safe to go back and try the other stuff that aren't so traditional.

From Week 28-30, 2010
We also ordered a durian coconut milk dessert (and "durian" has a red squiggly line running under it. Spell check doesn't know what durian is... =_=). When it arrived on the table, I expected it to be a cold dessert, like, sago! Imagine the shock when I tasted the first mouthful and it was warm... it'd definitely taste better cold- as a warm dessert it was overly sweet.

The next week, we went to the Japanese restaurant opposite Bangkok.

(Hold one sec, my cats are wandering around the house. Usually they'd be meowing their hearts out for attention but they've gone quiet... and I find them sitting on my mum's chair. To kick them off and set off the meowing, or leave them... hm... mum's not home to see it, so leaving them!)

From Week 28-30, 2010
I was a bit skeptical about this Japanese restaurant. Tried it a few years back and it wasn't anything special.

From Week 28-30, 2010
They do have very nice menu though.

From Week 28-30, 2010
Some rather unique food served, but not cheap. Notice the tabs on the side, allowing for easy access to whichever type of food you want. Pity the font is so hard to read. I could barely make out the last tab as "teishouku sides".

From Week 28-30, 2010
I ordered a sushi set with udon.

From Week 28-30, 2010
Udon came, kitsune style! =D Yay for the abuurage.

From Week 28-30, 2010
Crab croquette, instead of beef tataki which I wanted. It was apparently "sold out". Rating -1! And I couldn't taste any crab, -1!

From Week 28-30, 2010
Some... set... that tt ordered.

From Week 28-30, 2010
Cake roll dessert.

From Week 28-30, 2010
Deep fried soft shell crab salad, which tt ordered to pacify me. I was still whinging about the lack of beef tataki =_= as if "sold out"!

Food was mediocre, nothing special... price was about the same as Musashi, but I think I'd rather go to Musashi. At least they'd have beef tataki =P Perhaps I'm just being biased here, but really, this restaurant didn't really leave any impression on me. It's just... very normal. I remembered it to be very normal from my previous visit years ago too, just like how Wagamama leaves a bad impression no many how many years you give them to improve =_=

From Week 28-30, 2010
Ending the day with Azuma's soy milk pudding.

From Week 28-30, 2010
Hair cut, and psp =)

From Week 28-30, 2010
Plus dinner, home made! S&B golden curry with chicken~
